EOS Project Reduces Maximum Token Number

EOS project has decided to reduce the maximum number of its tokens from 10 billion to 2 billion. Previously, there were only 1.15 billion coins in the EOS ecosystem, which is 54% of the new limit. The remaining 950 million coins will be issued to stimulate ecosystem growth, including rewarding stakers and block producers.

Approval by Network Consensus

Iva La Rosa, the CEO of the EOS Network Foundation, announced that the change in tokenomics was approved by network consensus. According to him, at least 15 out of 21 block producers voted in favor of the proposal.

Supporting and Developing the EOS Ecosystem

These changes are aimed at supporting and developing the EOS ecosystem. Currently, the EOS Network Foundation, a non-profit organization managing the project, is actively working on network improvements after taking over management from Block.one in 2021. It is worth noting that in the past, the EOS Network Foundation filed a lawsuit against Block.one for $1 billion.

Long-Term Growth and Stability

The reduction of the total number of tokens and their active use to stimulate the ecosystem are intended to ensure the long-term growth and stability of the EOS project, while increasing its attractiveness to market participants and investors.
