The Bitcoin Network Achieves 1 Billion Transactions Milestone
The Bitcoin network has recently reached an impressive milestone, processing over one billion transactions. According to the Clark Moody dashboard, the total number of transactions reached 1,000,369,716. For comparison, it took the international payment system Visa almost 25 years to achieve similar figures, while Bitcoin did it in just 15 years.
Growing Recognition in the Financial World
The average number of transactions per week on the Bitcoin network is around 505,000, demonstrating the growing recognition of the first cryptocurrency in the financial world. In April of this year alone, over 14 million transactions were registered on the Bitcoin network.
Rising Market Value
Amidst this growth, the market value of Bitcoin continues to rise and currently exceeds $65,000. Over the past week, the price of Bitcoin has increased by about 4%.
Challenges in the Bitcoin Ecosystem
However, not all news about Bitcoin is positive. Jameson Lopp, the co-founder of the Casa platform, noted that the rewards for miners on the Bitcoin test network have decreased to almost zero, impacting the development and testing of new solutions in the Bitcoin ecosystem. While the Bitcoin network demonstrates significant growth and recognition, addressing such challenges is crucial for ensuring further development and efficiency of the system.
