On August 26, trading of a new meme token called DOGS will start on the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, released in the Telegram ecosystem. This token, which has already appeared on Binance Launchpool on August 23, represents a cryptocurrency with an image of a dog drawn by Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
DOGS was created with the aim of introducing a wider audience to blockchain technology. The total token issuance is 550 billion, of which 94% or 516.75 billion are already in circulation. The unique token distribution model, called «Dogenomics», implies that 81.5% of the total tokens are intended for the community, of which 73% is allocated for long-term Telegram users. The remaining portion is distributed among traders and new community participants.
To prevent abuses, such as the use of bots to participate in airdrops, the DOGS community has taken measures to remove suspicious accounts. All accounts that attempted to deceive the system were excluded from the airdrops, including on Binance. The goal of these actions is to ensure that rewards are delivered only to real people.
After the airdrop, DOGS tokens can be traded without any restrictions or vesting periods. The only exception is 10% of the total supply, which is locked for 12 months and intended for the project team. Additionally, 8.5% of the issuance is reserved to provide liquidity on centralized and decentralized exchanges.
These steps underline the creators’ efforts of DOGS to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of tokens and to maintain interest in the new meme coin.
