Interpol Issuing «Red Notice» for Cryptocurrency Figure Wong Ching-kit
Interpol has issued a «red notice» for Wong Ching-kit, also known as Coin Young Master in the cryptocurrency community. He is wanted on suspicion of fraud and theft totaling 3 million Hong Kong dollars.
Despite the lack of detailed information from Interpol, media reports suggest the case is related to ongoing investigations by the Interpol’s Hong Kong bureau on commercial crimes. Wong Ching-kit has been associated with various scandals, including one involving the token Filecoin in early 2019.
The «red notice» is an international alert to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and detain a suspect whose whereabouts are unknown. This measure is taken in cases where serious crimes are alleged, and further investigation and justice are required.
Interpol’s Previous «Red Notice» for Do Kwon
It is notable that in September 2022, Interpol issued a similar notice for Do Kwon, co-founder of the bankrupted project Terraform Labs. Do Kwon was apprehended in March 2023 at Podgorica Airport and is presently awaiting extradition to the United States or South Korea.
