In a recent interview with The Block, developers of the popular clicker game Hamster Kombat revealed details of their project and announced the launch of a second airdrop for users.
Journey in the Crypto Industry
Although the founders preferred to remain anonymous, they shared important aspects of their work and experience. They noted that their journey in the crypto industry began in 2013, and over this time they have accumulated rich experience in game development and blockchain technologies.
Inspiration and Philosophy
When creating the gaming Telegram application Hamster Kombat, the team was inspired by the successful project Notcoin. They also mentioned meme culture as a source of inspiration, which emerged in the context of the historical events surrounding GameStop and Reddit when retail investors were able to demonstrate their power against Wall Street.
«Our project was inspired by the success of Notcoin and the trend of social games popular in the 2010s. We combine the best elements of these directions, adding our philosophy of unity and including a lot of educational content,» explained the developers.
Gameplay and Future Plans
In Hamster Kombat, players take on the role of a cryptocurrency exchange CEO, where they have to accumulate game coins by clicking on the screen and developing their virtual business. This approach has similarities with the concept of Notcoin, however, its creator Alexander Plotvinov has already abandoned the clicker idea. He expressed doubts about the long-term sustainability of this model due to its instability. In response to this, the Notcoin team plans a transformation and collaboration with 1inch and Sign to launch a startup accelerator that will focus on the Telegram ecosystem and the TON blockchain.
